The current legislation clearly stipulates the requirements for transparency and accountability in the activities of the National Fund. For example, the Ministry of Finance is obliged to publish data on the Fund’s income and expenditures on a monthly basis, as well as an annual report on the formation and use of its funds. The National Bank, in turn, must post information on the Fund’s assets on its website every month and annually present the results of managing these assets. When these requirements are fulfilled, the principle of transparency is upheld, and the financial literacy of the population increases.
However, experts note that today the principle of transparency of the National Fund, as it is enshrined in the law, is not fully observed.
If high financial literacy of society is considered one of the indicators of development, then why are we still not striving to ensure the complete transparency of the National Fund?
