An analytical article published on Sarapshy.info examines the underlying causes of the liquefied gas shortage in the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR) and explores possible solutions based on practical experience. Author Nurlybek Rakhmanov visited the Atyrau and Mangystau regions to study how their regional systems operate and to compare their efficiency.
The article presents concrete data showing that the shortage in WKR is driven, among other factors, by an insufficient volume of allocated gas, the premature exhaustion of quotas, and a growing number of unregistered vehicles. It also stresses that the capacity of the Zhaiyqmunai plant is insufficient to fully meet the region’s demand.
As potential solutions, the author proposes three practical steps:
- Increase the volume of gas allocated to WKR;
- Prioritize the supply of Zhaiyqmunai’s products for local needs and expand the plant’s production capacity;
- Require the registration of vehicles equipped with gas systems to ensure a fair distribution of quotas.
