Kazakh football is going through a crisis: Premier League stands are empty, and the interest of spectators is rapidly declining. Where once attending a match was part of city life and a cultural event, today only a few people come to stadiums.
While professional football is losing its audience, amateur leagues show the opposite picture: private stadiums, full stands, and a genuine sporting atmosphere. This contrast points to systemic problems: clubs’ dependence on budget subsidies, outdated infrastructure, and the lack of a high-quality product for fans. All this is forcing sports authorities to consider the need for a radical overhaul of the entire system.
