As cities expand, villages in the North Kazakhstan Region are gradually disappearing from the map. Over the past few years, the region has lost 21,000 residents, making it the national leader in population decline. Every fifth village is in danger of extinction. But is it possible to reverse this trend? This article is not just a chronicle of dying villages - it is the story of those who have stayed and are fighting to survive on their native land. Solutions do exist — and they inspire. Details can be found in the article by our project resident, Nurgul Kazieva.
