In society, there are still certain stereotypes that reaching retirement age means the end of everything: career and any opportunities in life. However, times are changing, and so are people.
Most pensioners in Kazakhstan receive small pensions, which do not allow for a comfortable life. The rise in utility tariffs, food prices, medicine, and services forces the elderly population of the country to seek employment, instead of relying solely on their pensions. But let’s look at this issue from a different perspective. Do pensioners today have the opportunity to find work? Where do they work, and do they receive any support? We decided to explore these questions through specific examples.
