Organ Transplantation in Kazakhstan: How Can the Donor Shortage Be Solved?

Currently, over four thousand people in Kazakhstan are waiting for organ transplants. According to doctors, around 300 patients on the waiting list die each year due to a shortage of donors, and a similar number are added to the list annually. Because of the lack of available organs, some patients are forced to turn to the black market or seek transplantation abroad.
